Hermès Scarf 90 cm – Le Bal Masqué – Saw Keng (2014)
Pièce unique.
Created by Saw Keng, the Hermès scarf Le Bal Masqué (The Masked Ball) was issued in 2014, in a first and only edition. Born in Malaysia, Saw Keng moved to Paris at the age of 20 to study fashion at ESMOD. His highly recognisable graphic world combines a feel for costume, visual humour and a taste for detail. Le Bal Masqué is his fourth collaboration with the Maison Hermès.
In this lively, theatrical composition, the artist imagines a Parisian ball peopled with masked characters, costumed silhouettes, feathers, ribbons, gift boxes and whimsical accessories. The design plays with the idea of disguise, movement and celebration: everyone hides, reinvents themselves, transforms.
The palette is particularly joyful: a red ground with pink, green, yellow, black, brown and violet details. The contrasting pink hand-rolled hem adds a very refined finish and elegantly underlines the graphic character of the scarf. In excellent condition. Very rare and sought after.

A word from Diane
A rare, sparkling and highly distinctive scarf. Le Bal Masqué is one of those Hermès creations that immediately step outside the classic register: more fashion, more urban, almost pop. A cheerful, very contemporary scarf!
